What is LoRa?

LoRa

LoRa is not a woman’s name (though no wonder it comes from there), but is an acronym for Long Range – wide (large) range. Free long-range data transmission technology based on old military technologies.

The signals sent via LoRa are exceptionally well protected from noise and even with a low transmitting power. Therefore they cover great distances of more than 10 km. This makes LoRa extremely suitable for applications where network communication is required, power supply is lacking and end devices need to run on batteries.

The technology finds a wide range of applications in various IoT (Internet of Things) areas such as:

Who will be the trainer?

Nikolay Milovanov – Product Manager at ThingsLog, will deliver the course. Nikolay is an engineer with over 17 years of experience in telecom, network monitoring solutions and software technologies.

Prior to ThingsLog, Nikolay held various engineering positions at companies such as Globul / Telenor, Deutsche Telecom, Intracom Telcom, SevOne, Comptel and Nokia. He has worked as a consultant for Deloitte and BMW. For the last 8 years, Nikolay has also been a lecturer in Network and Software Technology at New Bulgarian University.
